As part of our free day today, I went with a group of people to the birthplace of John the Baptist, Ein Karem. There are two large Catholic Cathedrals there, the Church of the Visitation (left: commemorating the appearance of Gabriel to Mary) and the Church of John the Baptist (right). Both are impressive buildings and filled with beautiful artwork. It was a fun way to spend half of a day.
